VT is where it wants to be right now. However, my concern is that we sound as if we have buried our feet in the sand and won't move unless we have to. The only problem I see with this is that VT loses negotiation power. For instance, if schools start to bolt the ACC not named VT, VT starts to become desperate. Once they would have to go to another conference, VT could be suckered in to one of those Big East deals we had where we don't see much of the pot until 4-5 years down the road. Also, if the athletic teams don't perform well for a few years before this happens, maybe conferences don't desire us as much (of course, I don't think recent athletic performance really matters in the expansion world *cough* *Rutgers* *cough*).

I just hope if VT ever has to make a move, they make it when they want to, not if they are forced to.
